For People With Kidney Disease

People Like Us, Live! SpeakerAbout the Program

What is People Like Us, Live!™

People Like Us, Live! is about gaining knowledge, exercising choices and taking control. It’s a series of six classes designed to help people with kidney disease understand their condition, consider their treatment options and learn how to live well with kidney disease. People Like Us, Live! is organized by the National Kidney Foundation and presented by a team of health care professionals from treatment facilities in your local community. People on treatment and members of their families also participate as presenters by sharing their personal experiences with issues related to diagnosis, treatment and coping.

Who should register for the program?

People Like Us, Live! will be helpful to anyone who has been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure, and will need to make a decision about treatment within the next few months. Classes are also intended for someone who has recently started treatment or, who is on treatment and may be interested in learning more. Family members are also invited to attend.

What will the classes cover?

Classes will provide up-to-date information on available treatment options, nutrition and coping and lifestyle issues. Discussion will focus on activities related to daily living. Classes are free, informal and run approximately 1½ hours each.
This program is not currently available. Future class information and dates to come.
